Discipline

Our school-wide policy follows this general sequence:

• Actively listen to what the child has to say about his or her behavior.
• Redirect the child from inappropriate activities to appropriate ones.
• Direct the child to sit in a specific area (within the classroom or on the playground) until he or she can rejoin others in a cooperative way.
• Place the child in another classroom to sit quietly or to work for a short period. 
• Phone parents to discuss behavior.
• Place child in the school office to sit quietly or to work for a short period.
• Consult with school principal.
• Refer child directly to the school principal for serious violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
